PES 2016 Edit Mode explained.

With PES 2016 landing in only a matter of days and a considerable amount of buzz surrounding this years edit features making their début on the PS4 i thought id take a look and detail what to expect
( and what not to ) from this years creation functions. First and probably most important, as reported by Konami there are limits on the number of each image criteria ( strip, emblems, competition logos and manager photos ) that we are able to import which i will elaborate on in the following sections.

Players

As usual there are two areas to tackle when it comes to players in edit mode, create a player and edit a player. Create a player allows the building of a player from the ground up, these players are not team affiliated and you can create up to 160 players. Edit player is pretty much the same except ( obviously ) you are editing an existing player not creating one from scratch. So, what exactly can be done with these players?

Player editing is pretty self explanatory. The usual things apply, player name, where the player plies his trade on the field etc. What stands out this year is the new hair creation feature which allows a players hair to be formed in sections rather than just in one specific style like in previous titles so for example a player can have his hair longer on top and you can choose how low the sides of his hair are shaven etc. To see the new hair builder in action check out our Face and Hair builder video. Speaking of the face builder its relatively the same as in PES 2015 so nothing new to learn. There a few new elements have been added along with some new preset faces for users to play with.

Other than the new boots and goalkeeper glove types player accessories remain the same as PES 2015, you can check out the new boots here. I may as well add that there are no tight fit strip styles and player face scans doesn't feature this year. There are 122 player celebrations this year of which if i counted correctly 9 are new.

Teams

The usual applies to editing teams in PES 2016 except users now have the ability to import images for team emblems, strips and manager photos. Team emblems are sized at 128 x 128 ( pixels ) and users are limited to approximately 3359 imported emblem images. Competition emblems are of the same size ( 128 ) but you will reach the maximum at 50 images. Strip importing requires that the image be 64 x 64 and 2048 x 2048 pixels. for detailed information on how to import strip images onto your system see here. Strip images are limited to approximately 340 max. As with last year users can import manager photos these should be no bigger than 1048 x 1048 and we are able to import approximately 3357 images.

Strip editing within the game remains the same. There are 4 shirt collar options and player name and number fonts are the same as that of  PES 2015. No new kit designs have been added either. You can still choose up to 4 outfield strips per team. To see some edited kits in action why not check out the PES World kit video here.

As before users are able to choose from 16 stadiums to call home 10 of which can be renamed and edited to suit the team it'll be housing. the changeable options within the stadium editor remain the same as PES 2015 these are turf pattern, sideline colour, seat colour and goal netting design, no new options have been added here. For a run down of the stadiums featured check out our PES 2016 stadiums video here

Leagues and competions

As usual competitions and competition structure can be edited. The number of teams within a fully unlicensed league can be shortened from 20 down to 14, you cannot shorten leagues that feature licensed teams in part or in full ( English division 1 for example )

So, there you have it PES 2016 edit mode explained in a nutshell. If you have any questions head on over to the forum where you will also be able to check out what we are working on for PES 2016.
