PES 2014 COMMUNITY DAY.....MY DAY, MY THOUGHTS.

This past friday i along with a few other PES community members and members of the media attended a community play test day at Konami's  windsor hq. The day started early for me as it was impossible to sleep in on a day like this. Eventually the time came for me to make my way a 10th of the journey by car the rest of the way by train. After about an hour and a half i arrived in beautiful Windsor and started the last and shortest portion of the journey by foot. After a ten minute stroll i arrived at konami hq, a surprisingly misleading building smaller than i expected.  after signing in at reception i was taken round to the play test area where i was greeted by the familiar faces of Graham Day, Adam Bhatti and a face id wanted to meet in person for a long time Mr Jon Murphy.

Along with the familiar faces i finally met some of the great guys from the community for the first time. I was also very pleased to see the Konami guys had laid on a pretty good sandwich, cake and soft drinks spread because i was absolutely starving. After around ten to fifteen minutes more faces started to stroll in, that of Only pro evo (mike) and Nicholas Di Maria who i was finally meeting in person and who was celebrating his birthday. Right, it was time to get down to business as we all headed into what seemed like a conference room where we were all greeted by Jon Murphy and marketing producer Manorito Hosoda who briefed us on the day ahead as well as talking us through the new features of pes 2014.

So now it was time to finally sample the game, admittedly i was very anxious and extremely expectant. i wanted a whole new improved experience but was hoping all the old essence of PES hadn't gone. I sat down with mike and we got started. there were two teams available European champions Bayern Munich and Brazilian team Santos fc, i chose Bayern mike was Santos. One of the first think you notice once you start a game is the atmosphere is amazing from when you see the teams lined up in the tunnel to when they walk out onto the pitch. Something i picked up on was that teams lining up in tunnels like the previews we saw of Bayern in the allianz arena arent just limited to licensed stadia as it looked equally as authentic inside the konami stadium. Its very evident that Konami have paid alot of attention to the atmosphere as you see the obvious difference between a German crowd and a south american crowd who look amazing by the way fans are far far less pixelated. As the kick off whistle went you feel the instant difference when doing something as simple as passing the ball. The pace of the game has been slowed to a more realistic pace also. but what stood out for me and mike was the physical elements, challenges and tussles are very life like, going for headers against an opponent just looks and feels so spot on. Its amazing the way the game feels now and equally as importnat to me it just looks WOW! I just cant wait for you all to get your hands on it so you can see for yourselves that im not exaggerating, in fact you would be excused for mistaking it for next gen it looks that good. There were many other points to pick up on but im gonna point you all in the direction of only pro evolutions who will have a much more detail write up on the day as a whole aswell as our playing experience. I guess your all wondering with me being an editor was i able to obtain any editing news? well my good pal Daymos was the one to ask the questions and he was told yes there will be the ability to add an emblem to all unlicensed teams, kit editing will be based on the method konami use to create kits ( think pc editing ) also we were told there will possibly be two fake leagues this year aswell as the usual d2 league.

All in all i had a great day, and met some great people. It was an honor and privilege to be present that day and hope to do it again. Its days like friday that makes all the work  i have done worth it. I love being part of the community and taking part in such events. Thanks all for taking the time to read this, if you have any questions feel free to ask.
