MY HOPES FOR PES 2014

For many years with the impending release of an upcoming PES title i along with many others think of what may be in store for us PES lovers. For some its what new game modes will be added and for others they may concentrate more on how online modes will be improved. For me and this shouldn't come as a surprise at all its all about edit mode and how it will be improved if at all. Over the last few years PES edit modes have only been tweaked slightly with no major changes. Frustrating maybe but i have always kept the faith knowing that a complete overhaul would be due somewhere down the line. So you probably can imagine how my imagination started running wild when news of a new graphics engine for PES 2014 broke, i mean what does this mean will it allow more to be done within the game other than it looking prettier than ever? i hope so and that brings me to my point. what do i hope to see added or improved within the PES 2014 edit mode?

Well i suppose i should start with the obvious. For a long time now many a option file has been blighted on its journey to perfection by the fact that there has never been enough emblem slots for each team. Each year i have hope and wished this would change only to have my hopes dashed. One emblem per unlicensed team has always rated high on my PES wishlist and maybe just maybe this could be the year. OK so what next? well this one is kind of along the same lines. i have made many a kit over the years and have often said to myself 'if only i had one more layer' the kit would be pretty much spot on. This has always been frustrating to say the least, some suggested removing kit layers and have designs, patterns etc save on a HDD capacity basis. Good idea but that would mean a user would need a large or in my case a very large HDD capacity to fit most files on their system. Another suggested method was to remove the limit to how many layers you have to make a kit in game meaning if it took 10 layers to make one kit where as another only needed 6 this wouldn't be an issue. Lets just hope the guys over at konami see this as a major part of edit mode and have look, fingers crossed.

Remember back on the PES of old  when we were able add text to the back of shirts, logos on shorts etc? I hope to see these features make a return along with a few welcomed additions. How about the ability to add logos to socks or the area on the shirts that we are able to edit be increased meaning maybe adding images to sleeves? I would also like to see shirt collar designs expanded further? by this i mean like a few kits this season but mainly on kits using puma templates, Newcastle and Dortmund home shirts for example they have raised collars this i would like to see added to the shirt collar data base.

Shirt number outlines needs to come back there is no explanation needed it just needs to come back.

Lets move onto the stadium editor and first and foremost Konami may we please have the front ad boards back? i understand the need for advertising space but during PES 2013 all they had on there was zavvi. The stadium stands need to be closer to the pitch for a better sense of realism. What would be cool is an option to choose how images added to pitch side fences are displayed, moving or static to give the effect of electronic adboards which are used by most teams today. i would also like to see the introduction of see through stadium roofs / ceilings.

Boot creator NEEDS TO COME BACK! This in my opinion is a priceless feature and i would welcome its return.

I would like to see more second divisions for more leagues, ideally one division 2 per league but im not holding my breath for this if im honest maybe somewhere in the future perhaps.....maybe.

Please can we have competition logos on sleeves as well as league logos this would add a great touch to cup competitions.

Here's a personal choice for me, screenshot capability!!

So there you have it guys my hopes for PES 2014 edit mode. Do you agree disagree have i left something out? let me know what you think.

GTM.
